Dream

HAve you ever woken up from a dream to find its co-ordinates in the real world?
Like you have a leg or stomach pain in the real world and it blends seamlessly with your dream, without u actually feeling the pain, just knowing it exists in a different plane.
I have, and it's mind blowing!

In-law, in line? 2

These days I wonder why you said yes. Why you agreed to marry me.
I've not been wondering for long, just since your mother took up telling me how indebted I must be to her. She said she convinced you to drop your old lover and marry me. Was her name Lakshmi? Your mother said she was like the Goddess Lakshmi, only not as wealthy.
"Poor Lakshmi," she accuses me five times a day, "She was a beauty."
Your mother, Raghu, makes me wonder.

In-law, in line?

"I won't wear a toe-ring," she said, "and that's it!"
Her old mother-in-law's face fell. Unsubtly.
"Oh well, all right then, I'll wear it on my finger, if it's so important to you."
The old woman's face half-bloomed with the compromise. She could tell her relatives now that her new daughter-in-law was modern, yet traditional.

Silverfish

only a sort of shell is left
lying askew on the tenth line
of the yellowing page.
poor old silverfish
i remember when i
shut the book on you,
just to see if
i could hear
the squelch.
i couldn't.
